Having one of the most critical roles in the mass, a Eucharistic Minister is a parishioner, who serves, distributes, and administers the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ during the Eucharist.  Eucharistic Ministers are referred to more accurately as “Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion” (the “ordinary” minister being the priest celebrant). Eucharistic Ministers' primary duties are to help distribute the Body and Blood to the congregation at each mass. In addition, the Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to home-bound parishioners.
